Let’s define peace. The definition of peace I will be using comes from the biblical reference and Hebrew word Shalom, and Greek word Eirene. Peace goes beyond lack of stress, peace encompasses completeness, wholeness, health and prosperity. In order to have peace God must be involved. “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6 NIV When you take your mind off the stressors of this life and turn to the One who can give you perfect peace, then you will have peace!”You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.” Isaiah 26:3 NIV I encourage you to pray and ask God for his peace and meditate on his word concerning peace.
There are so many things happening in the world today, that could easily make you stressed, overwhelmed, angry, sad, depressed or filled with anxiety. None of those emotions are of God. Take some time to be alone and speak God’s word over your circumstance, over your life, over your family and don’t stop, don’t give up, no matter how hard it may seem. God hears you and loves you! You are not alone. You got this!
“And the peace of God, which which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:7 NIV
